Shonda Rhimes's new show delayed
NEW YORK, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- "Grey's Anatomy" executive producer Peter Horton says a new pilot by show creator Shonda Rhimes has been delayed.

The filming on Rhimes's new project has been put off until the end of this year or early next year, the New York Post reported Monday.

Horton has previously likened the project to "'Grey's Anatomy' in the world of broadcast journalism."

"That's a nut that TV has been trying to crack for quite a long time," Horton said. "If anyone can do it, it's Shonda. She has a really good sensibility for these different worlds that could be compatible with a mass audience."

Rhimes will be splitting her time between both shows, Horton said.

"That's one of the challenges. She'd have to do both (shows), because every script has to eventually go through her typewriter," Horton said.

I assume they are talking about JDM's show with her :(

UptownGirl from JDMorgan.net asked me to post this.

She took the time to make this list of emails and feedback forms for us to write shows to get JDM on them.

Some time ago -- back before the voting for JDM on Celeeb.com became so very engrossing -- I posted several messages here, suggesting that fans contact popular television talk shows/entertainment shows, encouraging them to feature stories about/interviews with JDM.

I've finally found the time to organize all the media contact info into one post. The information appears at the end of this post, following a rehash of two of my previous messages. These previous posts contain suggestions about how we might be most effective in contacting the media.

Inspiration struck while I was sending an e-mail to Access Hollywood, thanking the show for its interview with JDM, and encouraging the producers to consider doing additional stories about our favorite actor.

The powers-that-be behind the Emmys/Oscars may not care who Josephine Q Public thinks should be nominated... But you can bet your booties that entertainment shows like Access and talk shows like The Late Show with David Letterman care what their viewers think! In fact, many of these shows make it easy for viewers to contact them with suggestions/feedback about guest appearances.

So, why don't we JDM fans take a more proactive approach to media coverage of this breakthrough star? Instead of simply thanking various media outlets for their interviews with/stories about JDM after the fact, let's suggest JDM as a future guest/subject for coverage!

Just post here the names/online contact information for television programs on which you'd like to see JDM featured. (Either network or cable television is fine, but the focus should be national and perhaps metro-regional, I think... not just local).

If you have a television show in mind, but can't find a website/e-mail address, post your suggestion here anyway. I'll do a little research, and see if I can't find the contact info.

To keep this effort at least semi-organized, I suggest we start by posting the names/contact information for television programs on which we'd like to see JDM appear (or at least be discussed!) If that goes well, we could then move on to Internet sites that might be approached about featuring JDM, and then on to print media (magazines; newspapers). The sky's the limit!

All this presumes, of course, that JDM fans on this message board are willing to take the time to e-mail the various televison shows, magazines, etc. suggested.

Which shouldn't be as time-consuming as it might appear at first blush. Sure, it will take a couple of minutes to draft the first e-mail to the first television program... But, if you remember to copy and save the text of that e-mail, you should be able to use it over and over, with only minor tweaks, at most.

So... what do you think? Is this a good idea? Are you willing to participate?

Being of an optimistic nature, I'm going to assume that you're on board with this concept. That said, here are my first suggestions for television programs to be contacted.

Initially, it might be best to focus on television programs, then move on to print media once we exhaust the first. Just to keep confusion to a minimum. That's only my opinion; whatever the majority decides is fine with me.

One caveat... We don't want to give even the appearance of our JDM promotion effort being some sort of mass e-mail campaign. I say let's NOT use the same subject line in all our e-mails to a particular television show! Let some read "Jeffrey Dean Morgan," others "Guest suggestion," others "Future guest - JD Morgan?" and so forth.

If you do decide to create some sort of "JDM media" group in your e-mail address book, be very careful that each e-mail generated is a blind copy. Nothing says "mass mailing" or "spam" like the recipients seeing how many others received the exact same communication!

As we're not writing (yet!) to thank these TV programs for featuring JDM, don't forget to remind these entertainment industry types exactly who Jeffrey Dean Morgan is. Keep it brief, and keep it current.

If you can personalize an e-mail, making it clear that you actually watch the television program in question, by all means do so! Beginning your e-mail with a thank you or a compliment is a good way to get the reader's attention. If you can find a segue into the topic of JDM, all the better. (A fictitious example: "Thanks for featuring Grey's Anatomy actress Katie Hiegl on last night's The Late Show with David Letterman. Have you considered inviting Ms. Hiegl's on-screen love interest, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, to appear on your show? Mr. Morgan is...")

These are just my suggestions, albeit based on years of experience dealing with the media and communicating online with supporters. Let common sense be your guide, and you'll be fine.

This effort to promote JDM can absolutely work!

The following is from MovieWeb (http://www.movieweb.com/tv/news/45/11945.php):
<< Talk Show with Spike Feresten is a fast-paced half-hour that combines traditional elements of the talk show format with bold and irreverent comedy sketches - both inside and outside the studio. Hosted by Emmy-nominated writer Spike Feresten ("Seinfeld," "The Late Show with David Letterman"), the show pokes holes in the staid late-night format by skewering the very conventions that have made talk shows so predictable. Rather than a straight sit-and-talk format with celebrities, this refreshing approach to the genre involves guests in unpredictable ways, like delivering the monologue or participating in comedy sketches. Additionally, the show includes hilarious field pieces, mock commercials and pop-culture parodies and has a live studio audience. >> askfox@foxinc.com
There is no e-mail address specifically for this FOX program. Instead, send your e-mail to Fox Broadcasting Primetime’s feedback department; be sure to mention Talk Show with Spike Feresten. It may be useful first to familiarize yourself with the show’s format (described above).

To all the Denny fans out there that think JDM should not have been killed off GA. I made a BRING BACK DENNY (denny lovers)THREAD on the abc.com message board (even if you don't believe Denny can come back but u love him) go there and post (everyday if possible) and help keep the thread high. Also post comments on Shonda's blog at greyswriters.com everyday too about how she shouldn't have kill Denny and you want him back. I also know that Shonda is making a new show for Denny that seems fishy to me for these reason. Shonda herself has said that she is 100% dedicated to Greys Anatomy if that is true then doing two shows does not make that true. Plus the only actor that is said to be invovled in this new show is JDM. If Shonda wanted to bring Denny back but didn't want people to find out about it she would put him on contract and say it is for another show. All I am saying is that there is some hope of getting Denny back even if it may be very little but no one knows for sure until season 3 starts.
